About our tours

Joining Birding Holland on birding tours in the Netherlands will give you more birds than birding without our guides. Much more!
All tours are private birding tours, booked by you for you. Should we get two requests for the same area for the same day, we can offer to the first booked party to take the second party along. The decision is not ours, but is made by the party that booked first.
All tours are booked with one guide, but we will always try to supply two guides per party at no extra cost. Two guides simply know more and see more than just one guide. Even though we will do our best to supply two guides, this will not always be possible.

During all tours you will have the use of at least one telescope and a rather large selection of books. All in English of course.
For a small supplement (€ 7,50 per person) we can supply lunch. You can also choose to eat in one of the many small stands we will encounter during the day. This is not included in the price. Coffee, tea, water and snacks are available at no extra cost.
We supply a checklist for each participant during our tours. After each tour we will send you an e-mail with a list of the birds (and mammals for those interested) seen, including a list of all sites we visited.
We are a member of the Dutch rare bird pager community. This means we are among the first people to know exactly when and where a rarity has been sighted. We can usually adjust any pre-planned route to see an extremely rare bird!
We use a modern GPS system to take the quickest way from pick-up to birding and between the birdingsites. This way we lose as little time as possible driving and maximize your birding time. Should a rarity be found and interest you, the GPS has almost all birding sites in the Netherlands in its memory, making getting to the site quick and easy!
All rates that are mentioned are maximum rates. For a regular tour you will never pay more than the amount you can find on the website. In several instances a discount is available. You don't have to ask for it, we will tell you about it. We are birders, not businessmen.
If, at some point during the day, you want to divert from the tour you booked, that usually is not a problem. Depending on where you want to go to instead the rate can change however. Especially in the case of a rarity reported suddenly, the rate can change considerably. We will discuss this with you, before changing our course. The decision will be up to you.
The length of our bird tours is indicated at the rates page. Should a tour be longer because of circumstances beyond your and our control, such as traffic jams, the rate will NOT be changed. We are birders, not businessmen. If you decide you want to bird considerably longer than the indicated time, that is usually not a problem, simply add the hourly rate to your tour rate.
