Mark Collier
Mark (1976) has been birding since a young age and this interest led him to pursue a career in ornithology. Originally from the UK, Mark moved to the Netherlands in 2008 and has rapidly become familiar with the country and Dutch culture. Mark enjoys all aspects of birding and particularly values those unexpected moments such as close encounters or witnessing interesting behavior. Some such memorable experiences include being dive-bombed by skuas in Iceland and having a purple sandpiper brood its chick virtually on his lap.
Besides his experience of European species Mark has traveled in the United Sates, New Zealand and East Africa where he has been involved with volunteer research projects on migrant shorebirds and songbirds.
